Once the gold has been inspected and recorded, it moves into the furnace. This stage involves intense heat and high-tech testing to determine the exact purity and value of your gold.
Your gold is placed into a graphite crucible or melting dish and heated in an induction furnace at over 1,000°C (1,832°F). The metal liquefies fully, separating from dust, stones, or other contaminants. Any non-metal impurities float to the surface and are skimmed off.
Once the gold is fully molten, we extract a dip sample using a special tool. This sample becomes the basis for official purity testing. It cools into a small button of solid gold. This sample represents the entire batch.
We use two trusted methods to determine how pure your gold is: A. XRF Testing (X-Ray Fluorescence): A fast, non-destructive scan that gives a full breakdown of metal content (e.g., gold, silver, copper, etc.). Results are instant and over 95% accurate. B. Fire Assay (Optional but More Accurate): Involves melting the sample again with special fluxes to isolate pure gold. Considered the most reliable method, especially for high-value batches. Takes longer but offers up to 99.99% accuracy.
We provide clients with an official assay certificate or report that includes: Metal composition (e.g., 91.6% gold = 22k) Net weight after melting Assay method used (XRF or fire assay) Date and batch ID
Before proceeding to purification, some clients choose to: Accept a payout based on assay results Request specific purity goals (e.g., 24K final product) Keep or sell the refined gold directly through us
